Anika Noni is an American performer and actress. She is most famous for her role as Tiana Disney's first African American character In The Princess and the Frog. She was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. Rose is best known for her character Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born June 6, 1972) is an American actress and singer. She is most famous for playing Tiana The Princess as well as the Frog's 2009 African-American Princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. The actress is also famous for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson on the Oscar-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and also for playing her character LaVerne JUKEBOX Ganner in The Starz series Power. She's also known for performing in the theatre, especially for the starring roles of Emmie Thibodeaux and Emmie Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performer Award was awarded to her as well as Beneatha Youther in the Broadway Remake of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performance in a Play nominated her.
