Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and sometimes stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. The singer has released a number of high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and were widely appreciated. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. This brought her some recognition. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic then becoming enthralled by its sounds. Parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. In order to do so, she began writing original compositions. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as being her influences. After her mother said that the songs she composed were not meant to make her famous but instead to inspire people to realize the importance of their work and influence in the world, she started performing them publicly. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. The family did not have any idea until she was 14. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. The singer says that she simply likes writing music. She claims that music is her most preferred way of feeling something.
